Automobile Insurance is meant to safeguard the investment you’ve made in your car.
It is smart planning that can help protect you from expensive, sometimes devastating surprises that can and do, unfortunately, happen every day on our roadways. Auto Insurance has two parts. Tthe first is the liability section which covers your financial responsibility for injuring others and property damage. Things to consider when deciding adequate limits of liability:
The second part of auto insurance covers the vehicle itself:
Utilizing high deductibles on the physical damage coverages can help reduce premiums.
Homeowner’s Insurance provides financial protection against disasters for owners of residential homes, condos and townhouses. A standard policy insures the home itself and the things you keep in it.
Homeowner’s insurance is a package policy. This means that it covers both damage to your property and your liability or legal responsibility for any injuries and property damage you or members of your family cause to other people. Damage caused by most disasters is covered but there are exceptions. The most significant are damages caused by floods, earthquakes and poor maintenance. You must buy a separate policy for flood and earthquake coverage, which may be added to your homeowner’s package. Maintenance-related problems are the homeowner’s responsibility.
Renter’s Insurance provides protection for your personal property and your personal liability for those who rent a home, apartment, condo or townhouse. Renter’s insurance is affordable and will protect you from loss or damage in the event of fire, theft, vandalism, lightning, windstorm, hail, smoke, explosion and more. Renter’s insurance covers your personal property including televisions, computers, stereo equipment, clothing, and furniture.
Flood Insurance provides coverage for the damage to your home and contents (if selected) for damage caused by flooding.
Earthquake Insurance: Homeowner’s insurance policies exclude damage to the house from an earthquake. This can be added to your home insurance by adding an endorsement with an additional fee onto your home insurance policy.
Mobile/Manufactured Home: For both owner-occupied and tenant-occupied mobile/manufactured homes, a Mobile Home Policy provides coverage for the building, personal property and personal liability.
Recreational vehicles are specialized vehicles and should be insured under a specialized policy. These vehicles are not your home or your auto, so they should not be insured as one. Recreational vehicle policies offer specialized coverage such as Total Loss Replacement, Emergency Vacation Expense, Roadside/Waterside Assistance, Accessory Coverage and more.
This insurance may be used for:
Rental Properties: For those properties that you own but where you do not reside, a Landlord’s Package Policy or a Dwelling Fire Policy provide coverage for the building, your personal property and personal liability.
Personal Umbrella: Umbrella liability insurance provides an extra layer of liability protection over and above your auto and property (homeowner’s, landlord’s) limits. This policy is designed to protect your assets in the event of an auto accident or lawsuit involving your property. Limits start at $1,000,000 and go higher, offering substantial coverage for a minimal premium.
Valuable Items/Collectibles: Your Homeowner’s Insurance policy, which covers your personal property, has dollar limits on items such as jewelry, antiques, musical instruments, art, etc. If you want to make sure that your valuables are covered, you may need to insure them under a separate policy.
Life Insurance: Can help you secure your family’s financial future by providing the funds they need to cover burial expenses, uninsured medical bills, pay off your mortgage and other outstanding debts, and maintain a comfortable standard of living.
Long-Term Care Insurance: The likelihood is that you or a member of your family will need long-term assistance due to a prolonged illness, a disability, or general deterioration of your health and ability to perform routine daily activities.
As a business owner, you have enough on your mind without having to worry about your insurance needs. Commercial business insurance provides wide-ranging protection for businesses and their subsidiaries under a single policy. Commercial business insurance is an important aspect of any business that cannot be ignored.
